In center of In The West is our large Live Room which in addition to being a communal space is also utilized as a reverb-rich live tracking room. It is intentionally left sparse and lacking any permanent sound treatment which allows the engineers and artists to use a wide array of instrument/microphone positions as well as carefully placed modular absorption/diffusion tools to sculpt the sound to suit each individual project. This room is perfect for capturing harmonically saturated acoustic instruments with natural reverb that blows any digital recreation away. In the days of widespread home recordings, its rooms like these that make leaving the basement well worth it.
Our Dry Room is large enough for an entire band to record or rehearse in together. It is specifically treated to have a tight and focused sound that is excellent for creating isolation between instruments during live tracking sessions or recording individual sources when little room influence is desired.
Beyond having a nice collection of equipment and studio tools, the control room is built properly and tuned to allow the engineers and artists to make good decisions when recording and mixing to make sure the final product translates in the real world and sounds excellent wherever it's played. This is a place to be creative and get some work done and the vibe of this room is really conducive to that.
